Surprise police took nearly 476 pounds of expired and unwanted prescription pills off the streets during the Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 27.
The Prescription Drug Take Back Day was hosted by both the Surprise police and the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration. There were two different drop off locations set up that allowed residents to drop off their unwanted prescriptions.
The nearly 476 pounds of prescriptions received during the even will be destroyed to ensure that they can not cause harm to anyone.
