Four Arizona Golfers earn League honorsPosted: Updated:
With the conclusion of the Pac-12 Women's Golf Championships on Wednesday, the league office has announced the All-Pac-12 First and Second-Teams and the Honorable Mention Team. Four Wildcats picked up league honors to go with a fourth-place finish and a Territorial Cup point at the conference tournament earlier this week.
Sophomore Manon Gidali was named All-Pac-12 Second-Team, her second career accolade from the league after earning first-team honors as a freshman. She holds a stroke average of 73.26 with five top-10 finishes and 12 rounds at our below par.
Freshman Janie Jackson and sophomores Kendall Prince and Andrea Vilarasau were named Pac-12 Honorable Mention, the first league honor for the trio. Jackson was Arizona's top finisher at the Pac-12 Championships. She recorded three rounds of 68 for her collegiate and season low. In her first season with the Wildcats, Prince holds a stroke average of 74.33 with two top-10 finishes and was UA's top finisher in two events. Vilarasau competed in all nine tournaments this season with a season-low round of 71 and a season-low tournament of 218 (+2).
NCAA Regional Championships, with site selections to be determined, will be held May 9-11. Auburn will host the East Regional, Oklahoma the Central Regional and Stanford the West Regional. For continued coverage of Arizona women's golf, visit ArizonaWildcats.com.
