Tickets are now available for the 43rd Arizona Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony & Youth Sports Awards, to be held Thursday, May 9, at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, in the new Virginia G. Piper Theater.

"This year's event has been moved to a new venue to accommodate the additional guests we are expecting, in part because we have decided to also honor our Youth Sports Award winners on the same stage as our annual Hall of Fame inductees," said 2013 Event Co-Chair Nikki Balich.  "As a result, this year's event will be very exciting and a great way to showcase the new leadership and vision of the Phoenix Regional Sports Commission!"

Each year, the Arizona Sports Hall of Fame honors athletes, coaches, administrators and others who have made significant contributions to sports within the state.  This year's inductees include professional golfer Heather Farr, USA Olympic diver Dr. Michele Mitchell, NBA All-Star Lafayette "Fat" Lever, and Arizona business leader and nationally recognized entrepreneur Karl Eller.

"We are thrilled about this year's class, as it represents two of our state universities and individuals who have enriched our community through sports," said new PRSC Executive Director Katie Brown.  "As with every year's inductees, these individuals serve as inspiration for us all."

The Youth Sports Awards portion of the Induction Ceremony will pay tribute to this year's nominees and their outstanding accomplishments, followed by the award announcements for "Coach of the Year," "Athlete of the Year" and "Contributor of the Year."  The 43rd Arizona Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be preceded with a reception featuring cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and a silent auction.  Event sponsorships, which include premium seats, are also available.

The Phoenix Regional Sports Commission is a non-profit organization created in 1988 to "Enrich Our Community Through Sports."  For more information or to purchase tickets, visit or call (602) 258-6272.
