Officials in Maricopa County have issued a PM-10 health watch for Tuesday.
PM-10 stands for particulate matter measuring 10 microns or less. According to Pinal County, a PM-10 Health Watch means that the highest concentration of PM-10 may approach the federal health standard. [Click here for an updated air quality forecast]
The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality recommends the following tips:
Avoid activities that generate dust, such as driving on dirt roads.
Stabilize loose soils.
Eliminate fireplace and wood stove use.
Drive as little as possible
Avoid using gas-powered lawn and garden equipment.
