Early Saturday morning, U.S. Senators Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) and Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) offered an amendment to the Senate Budget Resolution that would make it easier to restore federal funding for air traffic control towers that will be closed by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as a result of sequestration.

The amendment passed the Senate unanimously. The airports affected in Connecticut are Sikorsky Memorial, Danbury Municipal, Groton-New London, Hartford-Brainard, Tweed-New Haven, and Waterbury-Oxford.
