Thousands are expected to head to Hartford for the Sandy Hook Run for the Families on Saturday.
Organizers are hard at work preparing for the approximately 15,000 participants. The race begins at 10 a.m.
"The Sandy Hook Run for the Families is not about running. It is about life: honoring the memory of precious lives lost through tragedy and celebrating the gift of life. It is about uniting in hope for the future," said officials on the event's website.
The race was originally planned to be held in Danbury. Because of the overwhelming number of participants organizers moved the run to Hartford.
