Florida man charged with animal cruelty, video made of abuse

A Florida man was charged with animal cruelty for abusing family cat Tuesday.

James Fiengo, 42, of Port St. Lucie, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for animal cruelty for hurting the family cat named Joey.

Animal control was able to view a video of the abuse taken by a family member.

On the video, Fiengo is seen squeezing the head of the family cat. James also twists and pulls the cat's ear, according to police.

In a second video, Fiengo squeezes the cat's head then holds the cat upside down and hits him in the head, according to the complaint affidavit.

A warrant for animal cruelty was issued against Fiengo.

The cat was examined by a veterinarian, the examination showed cartilage damage to the cat's right ear, according to Master Sergeant Frank Sabol with the Port St. Lucie Police Department.

A radiograph also revealed chronic trauma to the tail and there is remodeling occurring to the tail vertebrae.
