CHANDLER, AZ (CBS5) -
The assistant manager of a Chandler storage facility and her son were arrested in connection with a series of burglaries of several units at the facility.
Julie Wood, 54, and Jacob Arledge, 25, were arrested Feb. 12 at their Chandler home after police acted on a tip from an ex-boyfriend of Woods, who told police she had told him she was responsible for the burglaries, according to a court document.
Police said Wood and Arledge are suspected in five cases of burglary at a U-Haul building involving about $62,500 in merchandise, including many collectible items belonging to a man who lost about $30,000 in items and spoke with CBS 5 News in January.
Credit cards were taken in another burglary at the U-Haul at 6190 W. Chandler Blvd. and police said surveillance video captured Arledge trying to use the credit cards three times at two separate Chase banks.
A search warrant at Woods' house turned up some of the stolen items, including collectibles with the name and address of the owner.
Wood and Arledge were each booked on six counts of third-degree felony burglary and six counts of second-degree theft and control of stolen property.
Arledge was booked on three additional felony charges of fraudulent use of a credit card.
