Crews responded to a gas leak on Rubber Avenue in Naugatuck Tuesday evening, which has closed the street until at least 10 p.m.
Rubber Avenue is closed between Neumann and Woodruff streets and drivers are being asked to avoid the area.
Cracks are fairly common in Naugatuck because of the cold weather and old infrastructure.
There was a gas leak on Hoadley Street near the intersection of Rubber Avenue at the end of December.
The cause of the leak is under investigation at this time.
