A single car crash leaves one woman dead in SouthwickPosted: Updated:
Police are investigating a single-car accident leaving one woman dead early Monday morning.
According to Southwick police, the vehicle, a 2002 Mazda 626, was traveling Westbound when it crossed over to the opposite side of the road and collided into some trees.
Three women were found inside the vehicle and two of the three women had to be extricated.
Police confirm the deceased passenger has been identified as Haley Tierney, 22, from East Granby, CT.
The driver, Jillian Rolland, 21, from Southwick was said to be extricated from the vehicle and airlifted to Baystate Medical Center for treatment. The third passenger, identified as Jayme Barry, 21, from Simsbury, CT, escaped the vehicle on her own and was taken by ambulance to Baystate Medical Center for treatment.
Police are still investigating and will not release any further information until early Tuesday.
