New Haven police searching for missing father, sonPosted: Updated:
A Silver Alert has been issued for a missing New Haven dad and his 2-year-old son, who have not been seen for five days.
Police said Paul Martone, 37, and his son Paulie Martone were last seen Thursday. A family member called police after not seeing them for awhile and the police department issued the Silver Alert to help with the search.
Eyewitness News has learned that Paul Martone is a registered sex offender. He was previously charged with third-degree sexual assault.
New Haven police said there is an active warrant for Paul Martone after he violated his probation.
However, police said Paul Martone has legal custody of his child, but suffers from psychological issues.
Due to these factors, the New Haven Police Department along with Connecticut Department of Children and Families issued the alert. Police said the child is endangered.
Paul Martone is being described as a white man, who is 5'9" and weighs 210 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. Paulie Martone weighs 30 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.
Paulie Martone was last seen wearing a black pajamas with a blue neckline and a blue duck with an orange beak on the front and a black and blue puffy coat.
The New Haven Police Department is asking for the public's help. Anyone with any information is asked to call police at 203-946-6316.
