UConn ranked 'best value' among other public collegesPosted: Updated:
Kiplinger's Personal Finance Magazine has ranked the University of Connecticut as one of the best values among public colleges in the United States.
UConn was ranked 25 on the Kiplinger's Personal Finance's top 100 public college list, which is up from 30 in 2011 and 32 in 2010.
"The Kiplinger's Personal Finance ranking is a welcome recognition of UConn's commitment to providing its students with an education that's both first-rate and affordable," said UConn President Susan Herbst in the statement.
The survey was conducted by using data from 500 public colleges and universities.
The factors include:
- Admission rate
- Test scores of incoming freshmen
- Four-year graduation rates
- Six-year graduation rates
- Room and board
"In these difficult economic times, the word 'value' is more significant than ever, and we're proud to be recognized for our ability to tighten our belts without sacrificing the quality of our academic experience," Herbst said in the statement.
