Three OSU football players arrested in bar brawlPosted: Updated:
Three Oregon State University football players are facing felony assault charges after police said they beat up two men inside a Corvallis bar.
The fight happened at the Impulse Bar and Grill on Northwest Monroe Avenue early Saturday morning.
Police arrested junior defensive tackle Tyler 'Mana' Rosa, senior defensive end Rudolph Fifita and junior linebacker Dyllon Mafi.
According to investigators, the players assaulted two other men during an argument inside the bar.
The other men involved in the fight were not arrested.
"They represent our football team," said student Jose Reyes. "We respect them. So why would they do such things like that?"
Steve Fenk, Oregon State University's assistant athletic director, said he was aware of the arrests but had no comment Saturday.
Fenk said head football coach Mike Riley will deal with the matter when he returns from recruiting out of state on Monday.
The Beaver's next game is on Dec. 29 in the Alamo Bowl.
Police said Mafi, who is not yet 21, either used a fake ID or someone else's ID to get into the bar.
All three players are scheduled to make their first court appearance on Monday.
