New Britain school officials push for classes taught in English onlyPosted: Updated:
There may be a controversy brewing at one school in New Britain about what language should be spoken.
Parents and students from Diloreto Magnet Elementary School attended a meeting Tuesday to discuss in what language classes should be taught.
Currently the school is dual language, and classes are taught in both English and Spanish, but some school officials said they want classes taught in just English.
Officials said the push comes because of low test scores.
The Board of Education said it may bring in a consultant to look into the matter.
