Chompie's serves up Superstorm Sandy relief on Veterans Day
PHOENIX (CBS5) -
Arizona Chompie's restaurants are helping the families back east still dealing with the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy.
The Borenstein Family, owners of Chompie's, Arizona's New York Deli, moved to Arizona more than 35 years ago from Queens, NY. They still have many family and friends back east. They know all too well the heartbreak and difficulty people in their home state and others along the East Coast are going through and want to do something to help.
On Monday, from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m., the restaurant is donating 20 percent of their sales to the American Red Cross to help victims of Superstorm Sandy
There are four of Chompie's locations: 9301 E. Shea Blvd., Scottsdale; 1160 E. University, Tempe; Paradise Valley Mall, Phoenix; and at Chandler Village Center, on Frye Road, just south of Chandler Fashion Mall.
