The NASCAR Mexico Toyota Series will hold its first American race at Phoenix International Raceway, track and NASCAR officials announced Tuesday.
The Mexican series will hold a 75-lap race on Friday, March 1, as part of the support events for the SUBWAY Fresh Fit 500 NASCAR race that weekend.
The first will be the season opener for the NASCAR Mexico Toyota Series, which will be kicking off its 10th season. It will hold 14 other races at eight tracks throughout Mexico.
"This is a terrific opportunity to expose our fans in the United States to our exciting series from Mexico and continue to help the series and its impressive array of drivers reach new fans," said Brian France, NASCAR CEO and Chairman.
