Customs and Border Protection officers seized more than $311,000 worth of drugs and arrested two people trying to smuggle the drugs through the San Luis Port of Entry this week.
Officers found more than 18 pounds of methamphetamines in a 38-year-old San Luis woman's vehicle Thursday, authorities said.
A drug smelling dog located the 15 packages hidden in the vehicle frame, which were worth about $281,000.
Officers also arrested a Yuma resident Tuesday for trying to smuggle 61 pounds of marijuana, authorities said.
A routine check of his Chevrolet truck led officers to find the drugs inside a spare tire. The drugs are estimated to be worth about $30,000.
Both suspects were arrested and turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigation.
