It was one year ago today a giant dust storm engulfed parts of the Valley.
The wall of dust, known as a haboob, reached as high as 8,000 feet at one point.
The dust was so thick that it practically turned day to night as it passed over town after town.
It originated from storms in Pinal County and by the time it reached Phoenix, it was still about 5,000 feet tall.
The storm downed trees, tossed yard furniture and caused damage to some homes.
