Weather warnings and advisories were posted from southeast Arizona to the Valley late Tuesday for gusty winds and blowing dust.
A significant weather advisory for central Maricopa County and north central Pinal County was posted until 9:45 p.m.
Wind gusts of 35 mph along with reduced visibilities approaching one mile are possible across the East Phoenix suburbs, CBS 5 meteorologists said.
Across the northwest Phoenix metro, wind gusts may still approach 30 mph with local blowing dust and reduced visibilities. Weather conditions were expected to improve by 10 p.m.
Some of the locations affected by the advisory are Papago Park, Apache Junction, downtown Scottsdale, Camelback Mountain and Superstition Springs Mall. Other communities included in the alert are Paradise Valley, East Mesa and Mesa, Falcon Field airport and Usery Mountain Park.
The advisory came on the heels of a dust storm warning that was posted for parts of southeast Arizona late Tuesday afternoon.
Travelers along I-8 and I-10 between Casa Grande and the New Mexico border were alerted to bad weather conditions, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
The atmosphere will begin to dry out over the next few days as high pressure slowly strengthens.
