As several wildfires burn in Arizona, a lawmaker has announced a bill he claims will protect communities from another devastating fire season.
Rep. Paul Gosar, R-AZ, filed the Catastrophic Wildfire Prevention Act of 2012.
Gosar said the legislation will streamline the federal review process.
"Arizonans are tired of being victims of avoidable wildfire conditions. This legislation will expedite the review and approval process for thinning and grazing projects, so that our forests can be maintained and rural jobs can be created," Gosar said in a statement Wednesday.
