Family, friends and strangers attend Daniel Parmertor's funeral servicePosted: Updated:
Funeral services were held Saturday for 16-year-old Daniel Parmertor, a student fatally shot at Chardon High School.
Visitation was held Friday from 12pm-8pm at Monreal Funeral Home in Eastlake, Ohio.
Saturday, funeral services began at 10am. Following services, Daniel Parmertor was buried at All Souls Cemetery during a private ceremony.
Hundreds of family, friends and strangers attended Saturday's services. Most of the attendees formed a human chain circling the outside of the church preventing any protestors from adding stress to the Parmertor family during their time of complete devastation. Others showed up simply to show their support and love for the children in the Chardon community. "We are one community..with one heart" says Chardon resident Helen Pero.
The Parmertor family drove passed nearly one thousand bystanders outside of St. Mary's Church enroute to All Souls Cemetery. One of the bystanders, Debbie Boehlefeld tells 19 Action News that she came to the church because "we want to show our support to the family and say we're sorry this happened but we are here for you."
Two other Chardon students, Demetrius Hewlin and Russell King Jr, will be buried next week.
Monday morning at Chardon High School, suspected student gunman TJ Lane entered the school and began a shooting rampage. Five students were shot, three were fatally wounded. One other student was clipped by a bullet flying by his right ear.
Thursday, Lane was charged with three counts of aggravated murder, two counts of attempted aggravated murder and one count of felonious assault.
