Group home employee arrested in assaultPosted: Updated:
A group home worker has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a resident at the home.
According to the police report, Edward McClure, 44, of Glendale, grabbed the victim by the throat and threw him down, punching him in the ribs and chest on Feb. 21.
Police said the victim had fractured ribs and one of the ribs punctured his right lung, causing life-threatening injuries.
McClure was fired from the home.
When officers arrived to his home, he stated, "I knew it was just a matter of time before ya'll came for me. They told me I beat that guy to death," according to the report.
McClure later denied the incident.
On Feb. 23, he was arrested on abuse charges.
