Suspect pleads not guilty in fast food robbery spree

A man accused in a series of fast food holdups in Tempe and Phoenix pled not guilty in court Monday morning.

Christopher Kimball, 20, along with Tony Tucker, 40, and Vincent Nitura, 20, operated as a group and targeted five fast food eateries in Tempe and two in Phoenix starting on Sept. 15, Tempe police officials said.

During the crimes, one or more of the suspects would arrive at the business, typically around opening or closing time, officers said. The suspect would then use force to direct the victims to the back of the store while pointing a firearm at the victims. The suspect would demand cash and then leave.

Kimball's next court date is scheduled for March 15, 2012.
