Hundreds of people gathered in Central Phoenix Friday to pay tribute to a fallen officer.

Maricopa County Sheriff's Deputy Bill Coleman was killed in the line of duty Sunday.

Bagpipes played as the casket carrying Colemen was brought in to North Phoenix Baptist Church.

Stories shared were not only of a man who loved his job serving the community, but a man who loved his family and friends even more.

Eulogies were sprinkled with humorous stories that many said Deputy Coleman would also want shared.

"You were a blessing to countless people through your selfless and courageous deeds, your efforts will impact generations through lives saved and the good you did," Coleman's sister said at the service.

"He's a hero, we love him so much we're going to miss him and we'll never forget you," Bill's brother, Rich Coleman said.

"You served with integrity and conviction and we will never forget you, thank you."

Sheriff Arpaio spoke last and took the opportunity to not only thank Coleman for his service but also thank his wife and children for allowing him to serve.

Coleman was buried at the Phoenix Memorial Park.

He is survived by his wife and four children.
