Volunteers at the Salvation army are rolling up their sleeves and starting to make Christmas dinner for thousands.
More than 5,500 people are expected to show up at the Phoenix Convention Center on Christmas day for a free community meal. It takes more than 500 volunteers to make this event happen. The menu will offer traditional holiday fare, including turkey, mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce.
The Salvation Army will also deliver more than 2,100 meals to the homebound on Christmas day.
