Deliberations in the so-called Baseline Killer trial wrapped up Monday without a verdict.
The Phoenix jury will continue deliberating Tuesday whether Mark Goudeau is guilty of killing nine people in 2005 and 2006. The 47-year-old former construction worker has pleaded not guilty.
Goudeau is facing 72 counts in all, including kidnapping, rape and child molestation.
If jurors find Goudeau guilty of any one of the nine murders, he could face the death penalty.
Authorities named the crimes after Baseline Road in south Phoenix where a number of the earliest attacks occurred.
