TUCSON, AZ (AP) -- The Forest Service is partnering with commercial vendors in Arizona to offer ways for the public to purchase Christmas tree permits.
Beginning Thursday, permits can be purchased in Tucson at Big 5 Sporting Goods store on East Speedway.
Christmas tree cutting season begins Nov. 19 and ends on Christmas Day.
Each Christmas tree permit is for a specified cutting area of the Apache-Sitgreaves, Coconino, Kaibab, Prescott, or Tonto National Forests.
The cost of the permit is $15.
The Forest Service will grant one permit per household, for personal use only.
