Christina-Taylor Green Foundation holds fundraiser
The Christina-Taylor Green Memorial Foundation is hosting a fundraiser this week at Tucson's Westward Look Resort.
The foundation is named after the 9-year-old girl who was the youngest victim of the Jan. 8 shooting rampage in Tucson that left six people dead and 13 wounded.
The Arizona Daily Star says the foundation was established by Roxanna Green and organizes projects that reflect the interests, values and dreams of her daughter.
Among other things, the foundation has already provided school supplies and backpacks to kids who can't afford them and built a new playground at Tucson's Mesa Verde Elementary School, which Christina-Taylor attended.
Tuesday night's fundraiser will feature a jewelry and handbag sale and there also will be raffle prizes at the event. All proceeds will go to the foundation.
