An electronic sign along a busy Flagstaff road warned drivers Monday of a "rogue panda on rampage."

The Arizona Department of Transportation said the sign was originally set up to warn drivers about not making left turns at the Fort Valley Road intersection.

ADOT said a hacker changed the message to warn drivers to be on the lookout for a rampaging panda.

"We want to assure all citizens of Flagstaff that there is no problem with rogue pandas," Lt. Ken Koch with the Flagstaff Police Department told the Arizona Daily Sun.

ADOT spokeswoman Mackenzie Nuno said the sign was restored to its original message by 11 a.m., according to the newspaper.

During peak traffic hours, about 500 motorists drive along Forest Avenue, city of Flagstaff officials told the newspaper.
