Crews are scheduled to begin work on Interstate 40 near Williams Monday.
The Arizona Department of Transportation says crews will apply a sealing coat on 6 miles of the highway through the city.
The Arizona Daily Sun reports work will be from sunrise to sunset seven days a week through Aug. 25.
Motorists can expect single-lane closures in both directions.
The exit and entrance ramps will remain open. Workers will return after the Labor Day weekend to complete lane striping and other final project elements.
