APS restoring power to areas of Scottsdale, Phoenix

APS is reporting it has restored power to all but about 100 customers in small areas of Scottsdale and Phoenix.

APS said on its Twitter page that about 3,000 customers are without power around 7:30 a.m. Monday.  The utility said power should be completed restored by 2:30 p.m.

A lightning strike took out a power transformer in the area of 23rd Avenue and Thomas Road in Phoenix.

APS said its crews were continuing to work to restore power.
