Valley cleans up after monsoon storm

Posted: Updated:

Valley residents are spending part of the Fourth of July cleaning up after a summer storm rolled through Sunday night.

The storm kicked up dust, snapped some limbs, dumped leaves and left showers in many areas of the Valley. Salt River Project and Arizona Public Service Co. reported power was also cut for a time to customers.

KPHO meteorologist Steve Garry says isolated thunderstorms can be expected again Monday evening, mostly over the mountains.  The dew point will remain above 55 degrees and high temperatures are expected to be around 106 degrees.

The National Weather Service says parts of Scottsdale and Tempe received half an inch of rain Sunday night.
