PHOENIX (AP) - Zack Greinke struck out a season-high 12 and came within one out of a complete game as the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Chicago White Sox 5-1 on Monday night. The ace right-hander gave up four hits and improved to 5-0 in his last six starts.

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Arizona guard Rawle Alkins has withdrawn his name from the NBA draft and will return to the Wildcats for his sophomore season. Alkins declared for the draft last month but did not sign with an agent, leaving the door open for a return to Tucson. He is the second Wildcats player to return after considering the NBA, joining guard Allonzo Trier.

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) - Football coach Jack Murphy's rebuilding process at Northern Arizona has been hampered by key injuries in consecutive seasons. The Lumberjacks lost two key players in each of the past two seasons, including the starting backcourt in 2016-17. Murphy has added transfers to the roster for next season, giving Northern Arizona more experience and a chance to withstand more injuries.

(AP) -_ The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed cornerbacks Brian Dixon and Tyler Patmon and placed receiver Bryan Walters on injured reserve. Originally signed by New Orleans as an undrafted rookie in 2014, Dixon has played in 37 games and has 42 tackles. He finished last season with Arizona after being signed off New Orleans' practice squad in December.
