PHOENIX (AP) -- Arizona will remain on the LPGA schedule next year even though its tournament lost Safeway as its title sponsor.
LPGA commissioner Carolyn Bivens says the event formerly known as the Safeway International will become the Phoenix LPGA International in its accustomed spot on the calendar, from March 26 to March 29.
Bivens says the LPGA still is working through the final details of the event with the Tournament Golf Foundation and more information will be announced in the future.
The LPGA listed no course for the tournament.
In recent years, it has been held at Superstition Mountain Golf and Country Club, east of Phoenix.
Safeway will continue to sponsor the Safeway Classic in Oregon.
