PHOENIX (AP) — The chairman of the Arizona Senate's Ethics Committee has launched a review of whether Senate President Russell Pearce and current and former senators properly reported gifts from the Fiesta Bowl.

Republican Sen. Ron Gould says he is having aides review financial disclosure reports filed by current and former senators. He says he anticipates that someone will file ethics complaints and says he himself could decide whether to hold a hearing depending on what he finds.

A report of an investigation conducted of the Fiesta Bowl said numerous lawmakers accepted tickets to sporting events and accepted free trips paid for by the bowl. The report said released this week Pearce took at least two out-of-town trips arranged by the Fiesta Bowl.

In another development, House officials say Republican Rep. Jack Harper has filed an ethics complaint against Democratic Rep. Ben Arredondo of Tempe in connection with the Fiesta Bowl report. The report said Arredondo received tickets to NFL games.
