AVONDALE, Ariz. (AP) -- The city of Avondale is naming a street after NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt who died 10 years ago.
Dale Earnhardt Drive is located near the new Avondale City Center southwest of Phoenix.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. says the street naming is a special honor for the Earnhardt family.
Dale Earnhardt drove to victory at Phoenix International Race on Nov. 4, 1990 for his only PIR win.
NASCAR returns to PIR this Sunday.
