GLENDALE - Coyote’s owner Jerry Moyes called an emergency hearing to try and force a judge to rule on a mediation request.
Moyes, the NHL and Jim Basille have been in a five-month battle over the future of the team.
Basille wants to purchase the team and move it to Canada.
Today Moyes confirmed that no matter what the outcome of mediation or a judges ruling, the team will stay and play in Arizona this upcoming season.
Moyes said that is the best way to handle this situation.
In today’s hearing the judge did not rule from the bench, but they are hoping to have a decision on mediation in a few days.
The NHL does not want mediation.
