SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) -- Phoenix Coyotes goalie Mike Smith, center Martin Hanzal and left wing Lauri Korpikoski did not practice with the team on Monday.

Phoenix coach Dave Tippett would not say if they would be available for Game 3 of the Coyotes' playoff series against Chicago on Tuesday night, only that they were being evaluated.

Smith was injured in the second period of Phoenix's 4-3 overtime loss in Game 2 on Saturday when he was struck on the head by the shoulder of Chicago's Andrew Shaw. Smith lay on the ice for five minutes but finished the game.

Hanzal went off in the first period with what appeared to be a lower-body injury and Korpikoski went out in the third after being checked hard into the boards.

The series is tied 1-all.

D Seabrook gives Blackhawks life on offense

Smith has been peppered with 95 shots in two overtime games against the Chicago Blackhawks.

He's turned away 89 of them and the Coyotes' defense has been difficult to navigate.

Still, the Blackhawks were able to score twice in the closing seconds of regulation -- thanks to the offensive play of defenseman Brent Seabrook -- and gain a split in the first two games.

Now it's on to Game 3 in Chicago on Tuesday night.

The Blackhawks were waiting Monday to see if they would have rookie forward Andrew Shaw, who was ejected from Game 2 after colliding with Smith behind the goal and knocking him to the ice.
