CHANDLER, Ariz. -- The gridiron rivalry between the Hamilton Huskies and Chandler Wolves is legendary.

On Friday night a packed house saw the Huskies defeat the Wolves 34-18 to notch their 17th consecutive win over the Wolves.

As far as high school rivalries go it doesn't get much closer than these two schools with each located on Arizona Avenue in Chandler.

Going into the game, Maxpreps had both teams ranked in the top 20 in the state with the Huskies coming in at number two.

Following the game 3TV Varsity Zone reporter Warren Trent spoke with Huskies head coach Steve Belles.

"This was almost a must win for us tonight," said Belles. "It's a big win over Chandler, I'll be honest with you, 4-2 and usually we're in a position where we're undefeated."

Next Friday night Hamilton plays host to Desert Vista.
