Rebecca Halpern Draizin joined 3TV in December 2005.
She comes to Phoenix from Chicago, where she was a freelance producer for
the Fox News Channel and produced hour-long golf specials for CBS sports,
profiling legendary golfers Byron Nelson and Ken Venturi.
Draizin, who grew up in Chicago, played on the Women's Golf Team at
Northwestern University, where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in theater,
and her Master's Degree in broadcast journalism.
Draizin was hooked on golf at a young age, first driving the golf cart, then
driving the golf ball. Soon, Draizin was competing at the national
Level. She played her way onto the Rolex Jr. All-American team with
future LPGA stars Christie Kerr and Grace Park.
Draizin's lifelong goal has been to make it to the U.S. Women's Open. She
came close twice, missing it by one shot in 2003 and earning low-amateur
honors at the sectional qualifier in 2005. She was the low-American at both
the British Ladies' Amateur Stroke Play Championship and the British Ladies'
Mid-Amateur Championship. She also earned status on the Duramed FUTURES
Tour.
When she's not working on her game, Draizin enjoys reading loads of interior
design magazines, watching "Sex and the City" reruns and traveling.
