PHOENIX -- The Super Bowl may be more than 200 days away, but planning for the event is already well underway. This year's Super Bowl Central, the big game's big block party, is planned to be the biggest ever.

Davney Pruess, the Senior Director of Super Bowl Central, said the event will be expanding to 12 blocks. While the game itself is in Glendale, Super Bowl Central will be in downtown Phoenix.

Pruess said the event will be free and family friendly, with a number of activities spread out throughout the streets of downtown Phoenix. Familiar venues like the Phoenix Convention Center will serve as hubs football-themed activity.

The area will have a major stage set-up for concert performances. By day, local bands and musicians are expected to fill it, with national headliners taking over the stage at night.

However, while more detailed plans on the stages and events are being released, there's one important element that has not been unveiled yet. The last two Super Bowl Central block parties, in Indianapolis and New York, had area-specific "wow factors."

"We'll have our own 'wow factor,'" Pruess said. "In Indianapolis it was a zip line, in New York, last year, it was a giant toboggan run and ours will be a representation of Arizona's outdoor activities and natural wonders."

What that headlining event will be is anybody's guess, but with evening temperatures in the seventies and 12 city blocks to work with, the possibilities seem pretty endless.

Super Bowl XLIX will be held at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale on February 1st, with Super Bowl Central before it.
