GLENDALE, Ariz. -- The BCS group and the Fiesta Bowl announced Monday that the 41st Annual Tostitos Fiesta Bowl will be played on Jan. 2.
The game had previously been scheduled for Jan. 5.
The Fiesta Bowl will kick off at approximately 8:30 p.m. EST at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale. The game will be televised on ESPN and will follow the telecast of the Rose Bowl Game presented by VIZIO.
The Tostitos Fiesta Bowl, one of the five BCS bowls, will feature two of the top-rated teams in the country as measured by BCS standings.
"The Fiesta Bowl is one of college football's great traditions and we're excited that it will be played in prime time on ESPN," said Bill Hancock, executive director of the BCS. "We don't know which teams will play, but we do know that it will be a wonderful matchup and special for athletes, schools and millions of college football fans."
The Fiesta Bowl has hosted seven games that have decided the college football national championship, including four Bowl Championship Series title games.
