PHOENIX -- The president of the Phoenix Suns has decided to step down.
The team announced on Thursday that Brad Casper is leaving the organization to pursue outside business ventures.
“I enjoyed my time with the Suns. It was a wonderful opportunity for me, but ultimately serving the Suns while continuing to juggle a portfolio of other business interests became too much,” said Casper.
Chief Operating Officer Jason Rowley will immediately take over as president of the Suns.
Casper began overseeing the Suns' business operations in October 2011. Before joining the team, Casper spent more than five years as President and CEO of the Dial Corporation and its successor, Henkel Consumer Goods, Inc.
“I want to thank Brad for his contributions and wish him nothing but the best in the future,” said Robert Sarver, Phoenix Suns managing partner.
