SAN DIEGO - Mark Reynolds hit a two-run homer in the ninth inning off closer Heath Bell, leading the Arizona Diamondbacks to a 4-2 win over the San Diego Padres last night.

Reynolds hit his 42nd homer on a 3-1 pitch from Bell into the left-field stands to give the Diamondbacks their second consecutive win after having dropped nine of their previous 10.

Reynolds struck out twice to up his season total to 196.

Miguel Montero led off the inning with a single and Trent Oeltjen came in to pinch run. Reynolds then connected off Bell, who blew consecutive save chances on Friday and Saturday nights against the Colorado Rockies.

Bell is tied for the NL lead with 37 saves.

San Diego lost consecutive games for the first time since Aug. 22-23.
