PHOENIX (AP) -- Arizona Diamondbacks President and CEO Derrick Hall will undergo surgery for prostate cancer next week.
The team announced Tuesday that Hall will have the operation on Nov. 8.
Hall, 42, disclosed in late September that the disease was caught in the early stages and he expects a full recovery.
Team officials say Hall learned of his diagnosis in a routine check-up which found a PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen) test resulting in elevated numbers. A prostate biopsy was performed Sept. 14 and cancerous tumors were found.
Hall was named Diamondbacks president in September 2006 and added CEO to his title in January 2009.
He previously worked for parts of 12 seasons in the Los Angeles Dodgers' organization.
