MESA, Ariz. (AP) -- The Chicago Cubs are ready to take to the baseball diamond of their new springtime home.

Representatives for the team and Mesa city officials will dedicate the 60,000-square-foot facility, dubbed Cubs Park, Wednesday morning.

Members of the Ricketts family, the franchise's owners, are also expected.

The planned ribbon-cutting ceremony will also mark the opening of this year's inaugural spring training season.

Officials say the facility, which is located just southwest of the Loop 101 and Loop 202 interchange,  is the largest in the Cactus League. It has a capacity of 15,000-including 9,200 fixed seats.

The inaugural game at the ballpark will be Feb. 27 against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

City voters in 2010 approved a $99 million outlay of public money for the stadium complex, a redo of next-door Riverview Park and infrastructure.
