SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) -- The Phoenix Open has set a new all-time high for single-day attendance for the tournament and professional golf history.
Waste Management Phoenix Open officials say 189,772 attended the third round Saturday at the TPC in Scottsdale.
The previous single-day record was 179,022, set last year and also during the third round.
Tournament officials say more than 500,000 people have come through in the last six days.
Officials are hoping Sunday's final round will draw enough people to break a tournament-week record of 538,356 set in 2008.
