CAVE CREEK, Ariz. -- As it turns out, Captain Coyote, Shane Doan is a cowboy!
Now that the Phoenix Coyotes' NHL season is over, Doan can concentrate on another love, horses.
Doan grew up in a tiny Canadian town of about 150 people outside of Calgary, Alberta, and actually used to ride his horse to school. He said he could beat the bus doing so.
Fast forward a few years and Shane is still riding and owns more than 100 horses, both here and back home in Canada.
Doan also owns a stable in the North Valley near 40th Street and Dynamite Blvd.
He's starting a membership club for folks who want to ride, but don't want the hassles and expenses involved with owning horses.
It's sort of like a country club membership. Members pay a monthly fee and the club staff does all the work -- plus you have the choice of what horse you would like to ride.
The property has 5 acres plus a 4,500 square foot home that can be used for parties and weddings.
It's also across the street from beautiful desert land that is used by folks who want to ride and be in touch with some of the best scenery that what Arizona has to offer.
Prices start at around $300 per month.
