PHOENIX -- Police are searching for the man who tied up a woman during an early morning home invasion at a Phoenix apartment complex.

A 911 call sent police to the Mountain Canyon apartment complex near 32nd Street and Chandler Boulevard at about 12:30 a.m. Friday.

The 911 caller reported seeing a black man hiding in some bushes and hearing a window break.

"We received a 911 call from a neighbor who thought there was a potential burglary in this complex," Phoenix Police Lt. Matt Giordano said.

When officers arrived on the scene, they saw the broken window and made their way inside to search for the suspect. The man had already left the scene.

The only person in the apartment was a 28-year-old woman. She had been left in her bed, her hands tied.

"At this point we have no indication that there was any type of sexual assault," Giordano said, explaining that the woman did not sustain any serious injuries.

Giordano said officers and K-9s searched the area, but came up empty.

"At this point, we don't know if any further crimes were committed by the suspect after entering the apartment," Giordano said.

"The victim was unable to provide information to officers as to what had occurred," said Sgt. Steve Martos of the Phoenix Police Department in a media release.

The only suspect description investigators have is vague at best -- a black male between 20 and 25 years old.

While it's early in the investigation, Giordano said this home invasion does not appear to be connected to any other crimes.

Police are asking anyone who might have information about what happened at the Mountain Canyon apartment Friday morning to call Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS (948-6377), 1-800-343-TIPS (8477) or 480-TESTIGO (837-8446).
