PRESCOTT, Ariz. – A Prescott woman suspected of killing her husband in their Prescott home back in November was arrested Wednesday, according to the Prescott Police Department.
Cynthia Mueller, 48, was arrested around 1:30 p.m. for the murder of her husband, 52-year-old David W. Mueller. According to police, he was dealing with some medical issues and under the care of wife Cynthia when he unexpectedly died Nov. 16, 2012.
Prescott Police investigated the death and the cause was unclear until Charles “Chuck” Todd, 61, of Henderson, Nevada was arrested and admitted to Henderson Police that he was involved in David Mueller’s death.
According to Prescott police, Todd told investigators he was a friend of the Mueller family and spent time with Cynthia in Prescott and Henderson.
“Prescott Police Investigators served search warrants in Henderson, Boulder City and Prescott and obtained evidence related to this homicide,” said Lt. Ken Morley of the Prescott Police Department.
Police said Todd's account of what occurred at the time of David Mueller’s death is consistent with the autopsy results from the Yavapai County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Todd is currently being held in Nevada while he awaits extradition on first degree murder charges.
“Cynthia Mueller was booked into Yavapai County Jail on the homicide charge and on multiple felony fraudulent schemes charges,” said Morley.
Another man living inside the home was also arrested. Travis A. Northcutt, 42, was arrested and booked into Yavapai County Jail for failing to register as a sex offender, a felony.
